Stewart Street Surgery is the only general practice in Marton. The Surgery is in the ownership of Ngā Wairiki – Ngāti Apa Developments Limited and is managed under a contract with the Whanganui Regional Health Network (WRHN).

Its core business is clinical services for the community of Marton, and priority is given to maintaining these clinical services to the highest possible standard.

The collaborative approach between the Iwi, the WRHN, and the administration and medical team in the Surgery is delivering progressive hauora services.

There are transformative aspects to what has been achieved, with improved access to care, reduced healthcare inequities, and improved health outcomes.
